Idaho Athletic ClubFun, dynamic, innovative, rewarding, educational, and empowering!! These are just a few of the adjectives you might use to describe a workout with us at Idaho Athletic Clubhttp://www.idahoathleticclub.com The Idaho Athletic Club (IAC) was founded in 1978 by Cheryl Wardle as 'Cheryl's Body Shaping' where members' needs were met through exceptional service while achieving their fitness goals. Early initiatives were made to create a fun and friendly environment; becoming a founding principle recognized today. The consolidation of 5 satellite locations began in the original 'Meridian Community Center' on East Idaho Street. Fitness equipment and childcare were added, and classes began to grow as did a need for more space. In 1984 the Cherry Plaza shopping center became home to a new concept; locker-room amenities along with a whirlpool and sauna were added. At this point, resistance training was fully incorporated into the club amenities, which lead to opening an additional space, the 'Olympian Gym'. Privately funded, the IAC became the benchmark for fitness in the Treasure Valley. Building upon success, the former Court Sports facility in Caldwell was acquired. The State Street location opened in 2001, with a 45,000 square foot facility and in 2004 the BlackEagle location expanded with yet another state of the art facility. Total Woman Fitness (TWF), a separate identity, serves as Boise and Meridian's exclusive women's only full fitness clubs. In February of 2005 the Silverstone location opened in Meridian at 2340 S. Eagle Rd in the Silverstone Business Campus. Growth is going to continue for the both the IAC and TWF as we are remodeling the downtown Boise TWF and opened up a NEW TWF in Meridian as of June 2005. In September 2005, the IAC opened a new state of art fitness club at Eagle River in Eagle, Idaho. The IAC will continue to strive to encourage the Treasure Valley community to live a healthy life and understand the importance of good health and wellbeing.
